Sports Monopolies???

I was doing a little bit of research and i decided that most major professional sports are monopolies. (I'm not surprising any of you though am i.) i think sports monopolies are not a good thing for the American public. i think if you love the game than the professional ranks force you to watch what they have on TV whether it's a good product or not. take for example the NBA and the ABA. the ABA really challenged the NBA for ratings back in the 60s and 70s. you also got allot of prominent stars from the ABA like Dr. J, Larry Brown and Moses Malone. there is no competition for the NBA only if Lebron James goes over to Europe for 50 mill. a year. which takes me to my next point the USFL was a far superior league than the NFL it just didn't have the financial stability because the NFL takes the lucrative TV radio deals from the little guys. the USFL instituted the two point conversion and a simple kind of instant replay. this is nothing like the AFL that merged with the NFL they wanted to compete on a different scale and have there schedule run on a march thru June dates. i guess I'm just saying that we need a little more competition between the leagues maybe the AAFL will have better luck than the USFL or for that matter NFL Europe.I just think that we as Americans need a little more competition stimulation in our minds. when it comes to watching and playing sports.
