A fans perspective on steroids
I am a fan of all sports especially Football and Baseball which are the two most talked about sports for steroids and HGH. Steroids in sports are illegal and i know that and these players know that as well. The best time to watch baseball was when Slammin Sammy and Mark Mcgwire were hitting homer for homer in 1998 both eclipsing Roger Maris's unheralded record of 61 homers in a single season. For me that was fun seeing all those home runs hit. I know that they test players for steroids know and there still isn't a test for HGH. The "steroid era" lasted until 2007 when Barry Bonds was indicted on charges. I know that some of the records that were broken in the ten years the"steroid era" are tainted and need to go in a different chapter in the history books. MLB didn't test for steroids heavily until 2006 and they still don't have a test for HGH but it is still Banned. Why should players get in trouble for using a banned substance when thy don't even have a test for it yet. that's like saying you cant drink and drive but if you do and get caught were not gonna give you a breathalyzer. From 2006 on I think that anyone who does fail a test needs dire consequences. anyone before than needs to fess up if you were on the Mitchell report and be forgiven. Sports fans are the most forgiving people. Tell us and get it over with, look at what is happening to Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds. The steroid era was fun to watch but the post steroid era is going to be more competitive and more on a level playing field. I am very excited about what the future holds in this post steroid era.

A Cinderella story
Do you remember in October the World Series that had two of the most unlikely teams in it? do you remember what teams they were. To refresh your memory it was the Philadelphia Phillies and the Tampa Bay Rays. One of these teams has never been to the World Series let alone even making it over the .500 mark. Why was it such shock to the world. Because they did it with a small payroll of only 48 million dollars and than beating a team like the Redsox no less. But I believe the Rays and the Redsox have figured out the winning formula. Know don't get me wrong comparing the Redsox to the Rays is like comparing apples to oranges you just cant do it. my point is they do it with youth. They don't need a meat head that is on HGH to hit fifty home runs for them and will only play in 90-100 games. They need the youth that can give you 20-30 home runs a years and play 140-150 games a year. Know i know having a big bat helps especially in the playoffs but so does pitching and being a young pitcher. Take David Price for the Rays he was the number pick in the MLB draft and he almost single handily got the rays to the World Series. With the History of the Cardinals hanging in the balance of what is happening on Sunday. The Arizona have been statistically one of the worst franchises in the NFL since they have been in Chicago than St. Louis and than finally settling in Arizona. The Cardinals Last Championship was in 1947 not in the Super Bowl Era. Since their only championship they have really been irrelevant in the NFL. In the six-plus decades since winning the championship in 1947, the team has qualified for the playoffs only six times and has won only five playoff games, three of which were achieved during their on going run in the 2008-09 playoffs. Not a great stat to have going into this Super weekend. If they win than can history repeat itself and will it be another 67 years before another championship comes to Arizona. Its kind of nice when the underdog prevails from time to time.

Take it as you will
What does it mean to be an american in your eyes. Is it waking up free everyday, is it having the choice to read what newspaper, is it the fact that we can go anywhere in the united states and see anything and nobody says a thing. Being an american to me is seeing kids on the side of the road selling lemonade, having the opportunity to take a different job that will benefit your family. Being an american is also about living the dream. everybody's dream is different. Some people want to be millionaires, some want to be business owners or homemakers. Other people want to retire to an island or for some people they are already living the american dream. They have what they need a roof over their head and a loving family. So in 2009 i want you to think about if you are living YOUR american dream.

Out w/ the old in with the new
Welcome to 2009 (late but better late than never). I hope that 2009 brings all that you have wished and worked hard for in the new year. There are so many changes happening this year people getting married, couples having kids. The good thing about the new year is that you can almost start from scratch. there are certain things that you can forget about when that clock strikes 12. Today history was made with the inauguration of Barack Obama as our 44th president of The United States. Mr. Pres. has a tough task in front of him these next four years. i think that whether or not if we like him or not we need to support him and in four years if we don't think he has done a good enough job. than we elect somebody new. We all need to help Mr. Obama out these next four years. Good Luck MR. President and god speed.
